Farewell to Manfred Trautwein – 23 years as Managing Director of Anthropoi Bundesverband in Germany
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Manfred Trautwein was bid farewell with cheers, joy and tears at a ceremony at Schloss Hamborn. Numerous people attended and gave speeches, wrote verses, danced to sail and sang songs for him, with a chocolate cake and a delicious buffet. It became very clear how much he has done for organizations, political contexts, for inclusion and also for individuals, and how he has enriched the biographies of many people with his great personal dedication.
We as a Section have been very close to Manfred for many years, as he was instrumental in promoting academic education, was always willing to support foundation applications and cooperation projects – including as part of the EU’s ERASMUS program – and accompanied the development of our Section with his forward-looking perspective. Until 2019, Manfred was involved in the Section’s funding organization, the Dornach Fund for Supportive Education and Social Therapy, for many years and contributed significantly to the strategic development of the financial basis for our work. We can count ourselves lucky, as he will continue to maintain this activity in our professional field in retirement by becoming a member of the fund again (at the beginning of May 2025).
Our contribution as a section was a song (with Reinhard Kaul-Seeger, guitar, and Sonja Zausch, speech-singing) and the eurythmic realization of “Two Sails” by Conrad Ferdinand Meyer (with Sebastian Schöning, flute, and Sonja Zausch, eurythmy). And a financial contribution to a climate-friendly sailing voyage to transport coffee – all guests contributed to this!
Manfred Trautwein was deeply moved by the farewell ceremony. “I am overwhelmed by the manifold appreciation and all the encounters.”
We are very grateful to him for all this cooperation, feel blessed and look forward to our future together!
