May Conference (Maidagar) 2019 in Järna, Sweden

May Conference (Maidagar) 2019 in Järna, Sweden

On 8 and 9 May, the executive council of Värna, the Swedish umbrella organisation of curative education and social therapy initiatives, met at the cultural centre in Järna. The meeting started with an inspiring introduction to the qualities of the heart in the meeting and to the international cooperation with the Anthroposophic Council for Inclusive Social Development by Bart Vanmechelen, after which the meeting was completely dedicated to reviving and strengthening the cooperation.

On 9 May the Scandinavian members of the School of Spiritual Science, who work in the field of curative education and social therapy initiatives, attended a class conference on the theme of spirit-sensing in connection with the sixth lecture of the curative education course and the mantrams of the fourth class lesson. In the concluding discussion, plans were made for a class conference in Marjatta, Denmark, to be held in May 2020.

This was followed by the biennial inspirational days “Majdagar” for coworkers in curative education and social therapy in the Scandinavian countries from 10 to 13 May with the theme “To see and to be seen”. In addition to the participants from the Scandinavian countries, colleagues from Russia and China also took part. Substantive contributions by Bart Vanmechelen and Michaela Glöckler were alternated with discussion groups and artistic working groups. On the evenings there was a cultural programme with a look back at 50 years of Majdagar, a very lively concert by the Västerås Sinfonietta, and a eurythmy performance by the Järna eurythmy ensemble.

During the breaks there were lively meetings in which plans were made for future closer cooperation in the Nordic region.
