Start of the new Asia-Pacific Training in Bangkok

The first module of the Asia-Pacific training in Curative Education and Social Therapy took place in October in Bangkok, Thailand. This newly established program for English speaking Asia welcomed more than 40 participants from Malaysia, China and the Philippines, as well as Thailand. The program is an initiative of the Anthroposophic Medical Association in Thailand in partnership with Camphill Academy and is under the directorship of curative educator Anchana Soontornpitag and Dr Kan-Anek Kaewthaweesab.

Under very hot and humid skies, but surrounded by legendary Thai hospitality, lecturers Andrea Janisch and Becky Rutherford enlightened basic concepts through movement and the arts. And every afternoon the ice-cream man came!

The festive opening included a eurythmy performance, a violin concert by senior students from Panyotai Waldorf School and a welcoming talk given by Dr Porn Panosot, director emeritus of the Medical Association.

The training will continue over the next three and a half years with monthly remote mentoring support and biannual modules in Thailand.
