A conversation with Sonja Zausch and Sven Saar in Das Goetheanum No. 33–34

In conversation about language and human community with Sonja Zausch, eurythmist, social entrepreneur and member of the leadership trio of the Section for Inclusive Social Development, and Sven Saar, teacher, seminar leader and lecturer on Waldorf education. The questions were asked by Wolfgang Held.

 

What role does language play in our coexistence?

Sonja Zausch: For me, as someone who works a lot on inclusion in society with a focus on marginalized groups, language is the gateway to a democratic society. If I don’t feel invited because I’m not considered linguistically, I won’t participate in the community and I won’t take part.
