Professional Education – International Training Circle
In the Training Circle, the providers of professional education programs in the Section’s network work together at the international level. The Training Circle represents a diverse set of professional education programs, from introductory courses and continuing education to first professional trainings, post-graduate certifications, and academic degree programs at the bachelor and master level. The collaboration focuses on ongoing development of contemporary education and training processes on an anthroposophic basis for individuals who are – or want to become – active in the fields of work of the Section.
Key elements of the collaboration are:
- Annual conference of the International Training Circle – This meeting is bilingual (German and English) and takes place in April/May (until 2023 in Kassel/Germany, from 2024 onwards at different locations in the international network). It includes network meetings and professional development for trainers. Anyone working as a trainer in any capacity (course instructors, practice supervisors, artists, mentors etc) is warmly invited. See calendar of events.
- Recognition Process (Peer Review) – The Training Circle has developed a voluntary peer review process to certify providers of professional education programs. See guidelines documents.
- Charter on Professional Education – This Charter was developed by the Training Circle in a collaborative process. It was formally adopted in 2016 as an expression of shared principles.
Further dates (subject to change):
- 29. Annual Conference (April 23-26, 2025 in Kassel, Germany)
- 30. Annual Conference (planned for April 29 – May 2, 2026, place tbd)
- 31. Annual Conference (planned for April 28 – May 1, 2027, in Kassel, Germany)
Current Call for Proposals for 3-Year Peer-to-Peer-Professional Development Seminars (Annual Conferences 2025-2027)
Topic: Methods and Tools to Develop Competencies in Awareness, Feelings and Action for Inclusive Social Development
For the upcoming three-year cycle of work, which includes the annual conferences of the International Training Circle in April/May of 2025, 2026 and 2027, we are seeking proposals from colleagues in the network who can offer a continuous three-year professional development seminar. Each seminar will consist of a series of workshops at these three successive annual conferences. Each seminar will also include some low intensity additional remote/virtual engagement with the group of participants in the two intervening years (between the 2025 and 2026 conference, and between the 2026 and 2027 conference). The seminar offered should add to participants’ practical toolkits as professional/adult educators by teaching a concrete educational method, didactic approach and/or instructional design for a topic that is relevant to professional training in our field of work. The tools and methods introduced during the seminar should be aimed at building competencies for work in inclusive social development. These competencies must be clearly described in the proposal.
